Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

Short version: Recalled.co is a free service that surfaces official product-recall notices. We do our best to keep it accurate, but always confirm important information with the official agency (CPSC, NHTSA, FDA, USDA/FSIS) before acting on it.

1. Acceptance

By using Recalled.co (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Recalled.co ("we," "us," "our").

2. What Recalled.co does

Recalled.co is a consumer-safety information service that aggregates product-recall notices from official U.S. government sources — including the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and USDA/FSIS — and provides:

Recalled.co is not a government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. For the authoritative record of any recall, always consult the official agency notice linked from each recall page.

3. No warranty on recall data

We take reasonable steps to keep recall data current and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it. Recall databases are updated by government agencies on their own schedules, matching algorithms can miss products or produce false matches, and product identifiers (UPC codes, model numbers) sometimes vary between suppliers.

Do not rely solely on Recalled.co for safety-critical decisions. Before using or disposing of a product you believe may be recalled, verify with the official recall notice (linked on every recall page), contact the manufacturer, or check the agency's website directly. We are not responsible for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from recalled products, missed alerts, or reliance on our data.

4. Your account

If you create an account:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service (scraping, spamming, attacking infrastructure), or that we reasonably believe are used for fraudulent purposes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Recall data itself is public information published by U.S. government agencies and is not restricted by these Terms — but the way we present it, and the code that powers Recalled.co, is ours.

6. Email communications

By subscribing to alerts or creating an account, you consent to receive transactional and alert emails from Recalled.co. Every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also disable alerts from your account without deleting the account. Account-critical emails (password reset, security notifications) may still be sent after you unsubscribe from alerts.

7. Third-party links

Recall pages link to official agency websites, manufacturer pages, and retailer sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Follow those links at your own risk.

8. Intellectual property

The Recalled.co name, logo, editorial writing, design, and codebase are owned by us. You may not use our branding to imply endorsement or affiliation without written permission. Third-party product names and brands mentioned in recall notices belong to their respective owners.

9. Free service; changes

Recalled.co is currently free. We may change the service, add or remove features, introduce paid tiers, or discontinue any feature at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes to users with accounts. If we ever begin charging for a feature you were using for free, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before that change takes effect.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of data. Your use of the service is at your sole risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recalled.co and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for personal injury, property damage, loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Recalled.co and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account by emailing privacy@recalled.co. We may terminate or suspend access to the service at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections 3, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify users with accounts by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
