JBF's seller safety page says it plainly: “As a seller, it’s your responsibility to ensure all your items are free from recalls.” Recalled items cannot be sold at JBF unless the recall repair has been completed. Behind that house rule sits federal law: the CPSC states that it is illegal to sell any recalled product, including used ones.
How to do the check
- Work from your tagging list.Check each item by brand and product name, not just the category. Two strollers from the same brand can have different recall status.
- Search each item.Type the brand and product name into the box above. Results come from official CPSC and NHTSA data and link to the government notice, so you can show the sale organizer exactly what you found.
- Pull it or fix it.If there is an open recall, either complete the manufacturer's free repair and bring proof, or pull the item from your sale pile. Do not donate recalled items either. The CPSC says they should be destroyed, not passed on.

Does an open recall mean I cannot sell the item?
You can sell it only after the recall remedy has been completed. JBF accepts items where the recall repair is done. Many recalls are fixed with a free kit from the manufacturer; bring the proof with you.
Where does the recall data come from?
Official government feeds: the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for children's products and toys, NHTSA for car seats and vehicles, and the FDA and USDA for food, drugs, and cosmetics. The database updates daily.
My sale is not JBF. Does this still apply?
Yes. The CPSC's guidance for resellers covers consignment stores, charities, and individuals selling used goods. Selling a recalled product is a violation of federal law regardless of where the sale happens.
