AE — Water Supply Overflow / Leak Detected
critical
Triggered when excess water is supplied to the dishwasher or a leak is detected. The dishwasher continuously drains to protect the appliance and floor.
Common causes
- Water supply exceeds the standard amount
- Oversudsing caused by using dishwashing liquid instead of dishwasher detergent
- Unit is not level or door is misaligned
- Leak detected by the appliance
- Water poured into the Heat Dry blower instead of the water softening system
How to fix it
- Load large plates and pots upside down to avoid blocking spray arms
- Use only detergent formulated for dishwashers; never use dishwashing liquid
- If unit is not level, request service
- If error persists despite unit being level, request service
- Unplug dishwasher if no water is on the floor and request service
- For built-in models, disconnect power via the wall switch or power strip behind the cabinet baseboard
- If water was poured into the Heat Dry blower on a built-in unit, do not pull out the unit; request service instead
Parts you might need
- Water inlet valve
- Door seal
- Drain pump
